Course Description

The Elderly Care Assistant course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, practical skills, and compassionate approach required to support older adults in maintaining their health, independence, dignity, and quality of life. As populations age and the demand for skilled caregivers increases, this course prepares participants to provide safe and effective care in home, community, and residential care settings. Learners will gain an understanding of the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive changes associated with aging. The course covers essential caregiving responsibilities, including personal care assistance, mobility support, nutrition and hydration, medication awareness, infection prevention, fall prevention, and monitoring the wellbeing of elderly individuals. Special attention is given to promoting comfort, respect, and person-centered care.
